KKamra is a bangla book on photography which published its first edition on 26th January, 2012. After getting overwhelming response with edition 1, Kamra edition 2 comes with more text and photographs.Keeping classic and contemporary documentary photography in mind, it includes text on Nan Goldin, Eugene Smith, Martin Parr, Josef Koudelka etc. This edition also translates two important texts on critiques and theoretical views on documentary photography with the tittle- Documentary, Pramanikota o Bibidhartho by Martha Rosler and Pramanno Alokchitrer bhetor, bahir o otopor by Olivier Lagun.
Along with the translated texts, Kamra edition 2 features newly written texts such as Khoshra Prem, Bishoy Koudelka by Amdadul Huq, Smithoskria by Tanzim Wahab, Beshar Mongol by Arfun Ahmed, Adom Surot, Nomuna o Narayan Dajee by Mustain Zahir and Social Realitir Bastobota Obhijan by Naeem Mohaiemen. Mustain Zahir and Naeem Mohaiemen tried to trace the obscure regional history of documentary photography in the Indian Subcontinent and Bangladesh.
Kamra wants to preserve the photographic history of Bangladesh by publishing interviews and photographs, and as a continuation of the former, edition 2 interviewed 2 iconic photographers of Bangladesh entitled ñ Ghum Jokhon Biroti, Shahidul Alam and Shada Kalor Roshayon, Nasir Ali Mamun, Interviews were taken by Munem Wasif. Shatti Chobi Shatti Golpo enhanced to doshti chobi doshti golpo by Tanzim Wahab and Munem Wasif with 10 important photographs of Bangladeshi documentary scene and transition. The book also contains a portfolio of rare photographic collections of bodies in cremation ceremonies. Kamra welcomes debates and critical views on the photographic issues and the book ends with Firisti, an open discussion between the two editors of Kamra ñ Munem Wasif and Tanzim Wahab.
