After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.
Nelson Mandela aptly puts what we saw only a few days ago.
Yes, we have reached a new summit of our journey, with the launch of THEK 2: Edition 1.0, on 14th March 2015. A man globally known for his magic behind the camera, Wolfgang Zurborn, graced us with his presence; conversing about his brain-child “People Pictures – Picture People”, which received the support of Otto-Steinert-Fellowship of the German Society of Photography (DGPh) in 1985, and was presented at the Folkwang Museum in Essen in 1987.
As a photographer and educator of Gallery Lichtblick in Cologne for over 25 years, he shared his dynamic views about the world of photography. He generously poured his valued insight into the eager vessels better known as the members of the THEK community. It was truly an afternoon of creative energy.
The launch party featured interactive discussions, sessions of learning and finally a celebratory happy occasion with cakes and group photos. The vivacious conference had participants coming from all kinds of professional armours; but beneath everything, each was a shutterbug.
That is why they believe that “jeena hai toh THEK maar!”
